Day 1: Arrive at the Gold Coast
Arrive at Coolangatta Airport and make your way to the Avis Car Rental desk, to collect your hire car for your Gold Coast Hinterland adventure. There will be a map in the car, or set your GPS (if booked) and head into the city to your hotel for this evening.
Tonight you relax, but a good start to your visit is the view from Q1 Deck – from Byron Bay to Brisbane, you can see it all!
Day 2: From the coast to the Gold Coast Hinterland
After enjoying the excitement of the Gold Coast Beaches, head inland to the Gold Coast Hinterland. Wind your way through lush farmland towards Mount Tamborine. On top of Mount Tamborine you will find the township of Eagle Heights and an abundance of galleries, art, handcraft, book & antique shops. Spend the day browsing, enjoy one of the many walking tracks, bird watching, horse riding – the choices are endless. Head down the Mountain a little to Canungra and your dinner and accommodation stop for this evening at O’Reilly’s.
Today would be a great day to enjoy the local wines with cellar door tastings, a visit to the Tamborine Mountain Distillery where they make fine liqueurs, schnapps, vodkas & Eau De Vie in beautifully hand painted bottles. Yes, driving today would not be a great idea if you plan on tasting so we suggest a tour with Cork ’n Fork – we can arrange that for you. The wines in this area are relatively new, but have a flavour all of their own.
Still enjoying the relaxed beauty of the Gold Coast Hinterland? If you would like to extend, we suggest a day of activity with O’Reilly’s – guided rainforest walks, 4WD excursion, flying fox, adventure activities, spotlight walk, glow worms.
It if is time to move on, take the relaxed trip down the Mountain via Nerang.
