Day 2: Melbourne to Phillip Island Your rental car will be dropped off to your hotel and you begin your journey to Philip Island, home to some of Victoria’s most popular wildlife experiences. The town of San Remo is the gateway to Philip Island. An important fishing port, it is worthwhile dropping into the local fishing co-op for fresh lobster, feed the pelicans or perhaps hire a line and catch your own! The first town on the Island is Newhaven, a great spot for fishing off the pier, surfing at one of the best surf beaches in Victoria, walking along Cape Woolamai, or exploring historic Churchill Island. Day 3: Phillip Island to Melbourne What to do today – the choices are many. Come face to face with the koalas at the Koala Conservation Centre, take a cruise past Australia’s largest colony of fur seals on Seal Rocks, or simply explore some of the best surf, fishing and swimming beaches in Victoria before heading back to Melbourne.
